This beautiful writing desk was conceptualized by talented Sarasota interior designer Richard
Carney. He wanted to provide his client with a one-of-a-kind piece that combined functionality and beauty with irreplaceable
local history. The result is a 6' long, 24" wide cypress desk which features salvaged architectural elements, like
the hand-painted beams which originally adorned the lobby of the John Ringling Hotel and decorative corbels turned vertically
for the legs. The front apron was made from one board which was cut and then attached to the drawer front to create
the continuous pattern. The highly figured grain of the cypress top is intensified with a warm stain color.
