The First Baptist Church, located in historic downtown St. Petersburg, FL across the street from
Williams Park on 4th Street North. The sanctuary was built in 1924 and was deemed a Florida Historic Structure.
The Baptist congragation built a new santuary and the church building was then purchased in 1990 by St. Peter's Episcopal
Cathedral.
The church was partially demolished in early 2009, leaving only the
front facade as a historical landmark and Columbarium. The main structure of the church, featuring period brick construction
with old-growth South Florida heart-pine trusses, was salvaged for the raw materials and are being used in Shawn's furniture
fabrication.
